Looking north on the West Shore Isle of Springs, Maine about 1915. From (Right to Left): John A. Greenleaf Cottage. Designed by George M. Coombs a noted architect from Lewiston, ME. Built 1888. Greenleaf was a construction contractor from Auburn, Maine and a founding member of the Isle of Springs Association in 1887. Greenleaf built many of the early buildings on the island. Next, the George M. Coombs Cottage - the architect's personal cottage built in 1888 and enlarged in 1907. Coombs was a founder of the Isle of Springs Association and its president at the time of his death in 1909. Next, Mayor John W. Chase Cottage (1892). Chase was mayor of Augusta 1891-1893. Next, (far left) Manning S. Campbell Cottage (1888). Campbell was a founding member of the association.
