The porch was the meeting point for the kids in their teens.The mail would arrive about 4 or 4:30 in the afternoon and it was the meeting place. They gathered to wait for Mrs. Tibbits to sort the mail. Pete would beg a nickel from his grandmother, Alma Clarke, to buy an orange popsicle.
