This view is looking south on Knox Brothers Avenue at its intersection with Main Street. The brick and granite Whitcomb Block, built in 1879, is on the right at the corner. Across Main Street are a row of wood frame commercial buildings which were demolished in 1978. A few straw-boater-hatted men are posed outside Blanchard's Cigar storefront, and the blur of a figure entering or exiting the store is just visible.The mid-19th century residence and shed on the left are also no longer standing. A wagon frame lies in front of the wooden ramp entrance to a shop on the right.
