This image of the area of Mechanic's Hollow from the water shows warehouses, shops, and wharves piled high with neat stacks of lumber and possibly pallets. The cooperage and spool shop may be among the complex of buildings. The wharves and some of the sheds are probably those of the McGilvery and Carvers Shipyards, which were no longer operating by the time the photograph was taken.
