The image is a summertime view across Main Street and sighting down Elm Street in the center of town. A picket fence and bank of tall daisies leads the eye into the picture and down the street lined with magnificent elm trees. The Masonic and Odd Fellows' Hall, which housed The ["G.A.R.] Grand Army of the Republic room, and Ciivil War monument are at the left. A woman and girl in light-colored dresses walk away from the camera and down Elm Street toward the harbor.
