Searsport, Maine 227
The scene is a picturesque summer cottage and matching guesthouse or outbuilding of some kind off what is now Route 1, approaching Searsport from the west. The bay is visible in the distance. The house has a wrap-around porch and a Victorian vergeboard and bracing in the gable. Part of a dock is visible beyond the smaller structure, and another dock or a pedestrian bridge on the shore at the left. A flapping American flag flying on a high pole evokes a brisk, windy day. Although the area is now wooded, the property is still viisble off Route 1. [See also LB2007.1.111131 and LB2007.1.111188 ].
