Main Street, Searsport, Maine, 2 ( Cook Photo)
The image shows a view looking west on Main Street in the center of Searsport. A few people have been arranged as pedestrians and onlookers while dust rises from the dirt street from the recent passage of a vehicle now out of the picture. Visible on the right are the adjacent brick structures, the Whitcomb building (at left, built in 1845) and Pendleton (at right, built in 1879). A sign on the building to the left of the Whictomb building reads: "Searsport Drug Co." There is also a Bell Telephone logo, and a directional sign reading "Swanville." "PL Gilkey & Son" and "Bide a Wee Ice Cream" signs are visible on the storefronts on the left side of the street.
