"Swimming Pool -- Belfast City Park -- C10" Belfast, Maine, Swimming Pool, Park In 1936, the WPA (Works Project Administration) rejuvenated the park by planting grass, resurfacing the drives, digging a well, building a sea wall as well as the salt water pool seen here. Sea water was pumped in from the bay to fill the pool. The pump house can be seen at the far end of the pool (low structure at the far end of the pool).On the left can be seen the park pavilion.
