Post Office, West Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Large home, sign over door " Charles T. Orne", Post Office sign over window. Outside steps to second story, people out front, three masted schooner in harbor. "The image of the post office shows my grandmother (born 1880) at the top of the stairs. My grandfather’s name, Charles T. Orne, is on the sign (born 1870). My uncles (1901, 1906, and 1910) may be among the kids, though I think the photo was taken before my mother was born (1918). This image was used on the cover of a little weekly publication here in the 1960s, and a South Bristol artist (Sally Caldwell Fisher, associated later with Mystic Seaport) used it as the basis for one of her cutesy folk art paintings." -- Margaret Tew 2020
