New R.R. Station Washburn, ME 7
The image is of the Bangor & Aroostook freight and passenger station under construction at Washburn, Maine. Three men, a foreman and two carpenters, one of them painting the new clapboards, are visible on the platform which connects the two buildings. The platform ends in a partially completed ramp to the ground. The surroundings are agricultural. Sheep graze in a fenced-in area nearby; beyond is a huge plowed field.
