MARINE PLAZA

Designed as a floating waiting room for island ferry passengers. Built at Gamage and Stevens Yard in East Boothbay, launched December 1977. 130 foot barge built for Bay State Steamship Co. of Peabody, Massachusetts. With a beam of 30 feet and a draft of 9 feet the MARINE PLAZA is designed to be an accomodation for passengers boarding the island ferrys out of Boston. With rest room facilities and a snack bar, passengers will be able to board the island ferrys from the MARINE PLAZA without climbing a gang plank.
