SCHAMONCHI
Christening by 6 grandsons of owner John Wronoski: Christian Tyrseck, age 11; Adam Wronowski, age 6; Derek Tyrseck,age 12; Craig Hewitt, age 13 and Todd Linda age 10. Built at Edward T. Gamage Yard, SCHAMONCHI is a 149 foot steel hulled passenger ferry built for Nilseco Navigation Company of New Lond and assigned to a run from New Bedford to Martha's Vinyard. Designed by John Gilbert Associates she has a beam of 30 feet and draft of 8 1/2 feet.
