Loud's Island
Orrin Loud and George Martin at Martin's Store. Orrin was 82 on May 2, born in 1889 at Vin's Cove on Bremen Long Island. Father was born on Louds Island. His mother was Octavia M. Collamore Loud, daughter of Vincent Collamore. Orrin's grandfather was Peter Collamore. Orrin lived on Louds Island at Bull's Point about 50 years, moving ashore in 1940 when he got married. Up to 4 years ago (1968) he lobstered from a dory. Toward the end he had an outboard motor on his skiff. Once mowed alders in the dark of the moon.
