Built at Goudy and Stevens and launched May 3, 1967, this replica vessel was 103 feet 10 inches loa, the 80 foot keel is 10 inches wide and 2 feet in depth. With a beam of 22 feet 10 inches her sail area is estimated at 5,500 square feet. The measurements match nearly with those of the original AMERICA woth a loa of 101 feet 9 inches and carrying 5,236 square feet of sails. Captain until 1969 was Capt. Lester Hollett. Capt Hollett took the replica AMERICA on her maiden voyage to Newport R.I to witness the America's Cup Races that year, The replica AMERICA was built for the F & M Schaefer Brewing Company at an estimated cost of close to $400,000 and featured in an hour long "Sail to Glory" released to promote her and Schaefer beer.
