POWHATAN

Here's the bow of a new fishing vessel. POWHATAN was a dragger-longliner, the fourth and largest built to date in 1979-80 for the new yard, Washburn and Doughty Associates. at Woolwich, Maine. The steel vessel was 93 feet overall and rated 195 tons. She was a sister ship to HUNTRESS, both owned by Richard Goodwin of Point Judith, R.I. Her home port was South Harpswell, Maine. Designed by Washburn & Doughty, she had a 24 ft. beam and 13 ft. 10 in. draft. She was delivered in February 1980.
