COPY: Name the masts article. THOMAS LAWSON only vessel with 7th or Pusher mast. Largest schooner built at Quincy,Massachusetts, July 11, 1902. Lost 12/13/1907 at Broad Sound, Scully Islands off British coast. Only fore and aft rigged schooner with 7 masts and a total of 25 sails. Length of the deck was403 feet 4 inches, with a draft of 26 feet 6 inches. Owned by Thomas W. Lawson, wealthy financier and President of Bay State Gas Company, the THOMAS W LAWSON carried coal and later oil in specially installed tanks.
