Schooner BOWDOIN -an Arctic explorer - the first to send radio signals from the far North and the first to send colored photos of the Arctic to the National Geographic Society - Built by the Hodgdon Brothers Yard in East Boothbay, Me. in 1921 - Shown here the BOWDOIN under reconstruction - looking bow to stern - new white oak planks high - old ones on bottom still good - has 1946 Cummings diesel engine. March 18, 1982
