Schooner BOWDOIN -65th birthday of the schooner - an Arctic explorer - the first to send radio signals from the far North and the first to send colored photos of the Arctic to the National Geographic Society - Built by the Hodgdon Brothers Yard in East Boothbay, Me. in 1921 - Shown here are Mrs Miriam MacMillan, wife, and Mrs. Mae Fogg, niece of Adm. Donald B. MacMillan captain of the BOWDOIN during her Arctic exploration days, being guests of honor. -October 6, 1984.
