One of a series of ten oared gigs with 3 masts and sails produced by ACF. ACF is a non-profit , educational program dedicated to the development of self-esteem, competence,and international friendship through acquiring sea -oriented skills. ACF's Lance Lee heads the organization. Located in Nobleboro, Maine in an old log cabin mill is the place used for the construction of these gigs, called the ApprenticeShop of Atlantic Challenge. It was purchased by Lee in 1974. Shown here is a one fifth scale model of the admiralty craft planned by Peter The Great. Made by apprentice Michael Plekhanov of St. Petersburg, Russia to bring back with him.
