TAPPAN
TAPPAN, a 35 ft. wooden lobster boat, was built in Edward "Buddy" Poland 's shop at Round Pond, Maine, for his 20 year old son Frank. Fred Tappan was one of the principal builders and the boat was named in his honor. Pictured in the new boat's stern are (l-r) Irving Simmons, Dana Poland, Frank Poland, Fred Tappan, and Bud Poland. This was May 27, 1979, the day the new boat was launched.
