TAPPAN

TAPPAN, a 35 ft. wooden lobster boat, was built in Edward "Buddy" Poland 's shop at Round Pond, Maine, for his 20 year old son Frank. Fred Tappan was one of the principal builders and the boat was named in his honor. Launching took place May 27, 1979. Before the launch the boat, cradle, and trailer had to be extracated from some soft earth outside the shop.
