Rockport Apprentice Shop
LIBERTE oarsmen are starting their first row in the new craft. The 38 ft. French gig was launched at the Rockport Apprenticeshop on January 25, 1986. She was the first of three gigs built there from 1985 to 1988. The non-profit wooden boat school operated in Rockport, Maine, from 1982 to 1992. It was founded in Bath, Maine, in 1972. From 1992-1995 it was in Nobleboro and in 1995 moved to Rockland, Maine, where it continues in its 50th year in 2022.
