Steamer VINAL HAVEN

From collection Elmer Montgomery Collection

Steamer VINAL HAVEN

Steamer VINAL HAVEN tied up to Lermonds Cove wharf, filling and draining with the tide. The VINAL HAVEN was built in Searsport in 1892, caught fire January 1893, and was rebuilt for the better. Remodeled again in 1905 to become a 186 t. 100’ steamer. Put on the Rockland - Vinalhaven route in 1920. Note: Register lists her as VINALHAVEN (one word) but photos and literature have her as VINAL HAVEN.
