USS DUNLAP DD-384, at wharf. Commissioned June 1937, the vessel was probably visiting Rockland when here to run the Navy’s speed trial course off Monroe Island in Penobscot Bay. USS DUNLAP was a Mahan Class destroyer launched in 1936 from the United States Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. New York, New York. Operated on east coast until September 1938.
