Shore scenes

Port Clyde before 1948. Boat is the RIP TAIL, owned by Bernard "Spinner" Cushman. Tall buildings at right were the store fronts of Wilson and Son Grocery, grandfather and father of informant. Brown church at mid right is the Advent Church and the white church in back is the Port Clyde Baptist Church. Both are still active in 2011. In 1948 Allison Wilson Jr, as a young man built another small building in back of the shed in the foreground as he lived just out of this picture. His daughter Kathy later played in the area in foreground. Information provided on September 8, 2011 by Mr Allison Wilson Jr of Port Clyde and his daughter Kathy Vogel. [included in the "Elmer Montgomery" exhibit]
