Lobster smack AMACITIA
AMACITIA grounded alongside wharf. after being towed to Rockland by the Coast Guard cutter General Greene. she was repaired at Snow's yard. Does not show up in MVUS. Does not appear in the Atlantic Canada project registry. Newspaper accounts indicate she was a gasoline lobster smack. Credited with picking up 47 men after a collision between the two Gloucester dory fishing vessels ISABELLE PARKER and EDITH C. ROSE, May 10 1939. Account published in TIME magazine May 22, 1939 and in May 1939 ATLANTIC FISHERMAN.
