Schooners MATTIE / BLOOMER
View of bowsprits in harbor. MATTIE built as the GRACE BAILEY in 1882 on Long Island at Patchogue; renamed MATTIE in 1906. Came to Maine in 1919 and worked as a coaster until 1939 when she became part of Frank Swift’s schooner fleet in Camden. BLOOMER, a 55 ton schooner, built in 1855 in Eden ME. Owned in South West Harbor in 1920. [included in the "Elmer Montgomery" exhibit]
