Snow's shipyard railways
On railways, from stern quarter. Steamer W.S. WHITE was built in Noank, CT, in 1906 as the GOSNOLD for the Cuttyhunk service. Sold to New York City in 1921, as the MIRAMAR. IN 1934 she was sold to the Vinal Haven and Rockland Steamboat Co. to replace the VINAL HAVEN. Rebuilt in 1938. Sold to the US Maritime Commission in 1942 along with the NORTH HAVEN. Remodeled as an oil burner at Snow Shipyards. 221 t, 103’. WILD DUCK was a 142’ 360 ton motor yacht built in Bay City, Mi. in 1930 and owned by Charles B. Levy, Newport, R.I.
