Dragger MARY JANE, shown partly planked, was Launched 6/20/1936 on ways yet to be built; Albert E. Condon designer and master builder. I.L. Snow Co. Rockland. Plans for this 90-footer (sister to JULIA ELEANOR) are at Mystic Seaport (catalog #35.15). GOV. BRANN under construction shows in background "Coastal Minesweeper: Built in 1936 as Mary Jane by the Snow Shipyard, Rockland, ME; Acquired by the Navy, 25 November 1940; Commissioned as USS Puffin (AMc 29), 2 May 1941; Decommissioned, 18 February 1944; Reclassified as a Small Boat C-13546, 12 June 1944; Delivered to the War Shipping Administration, 20 April 1945 and sold to her former owner; Struck from the Naval Register, 29 July 1947.
