View looking down the length of the vessel from the bowsprit of the four-masted schooner MAUDE M. MOREY on day of sale by the U.S. Marshall in October 1937 at Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The sale price - $320.00. At the left is the four-masted schooner HARRY G. DEERING, which sold for $880.00. The MAUDE M. MOREY , Bath-built in 1917, lay among near-sisters in Boothbay Harbor's Mill Cove before being towed to Portland just before World War II. Hopes of re-entering the coasting trade soon vanished, and she was scuttled. (Doug & Linda Lee Collection) Note: one of four images of Crowell & Thurlow vessels laid up at Boothbay Harbor. At least 2 were sold that day. MAUDE M. MOREY is in all 4. LB2013.21.2091-2094
