View from seaward of the twin lights of Cape Elizabeth Light Station, Maine, at the entrance to Casco Bay. The twin lights were first established in 1811, with the current towers erected in 1874. The west light (left) was deactivated in 1924. The east light (right) was automated in 1963. The west light is now private property, the east light can be viewed from Twin lights State Park. In this image, the east light and two associated keepers' houses and an outbuilding are closer to the camera. The lighthouse at the left and its dwelling are hidden partially by a thick growth of trees. see also LB2015.15.46, a view from slightly closer in.
