St view of Coopers Mills, ME, 10
A street view of Cooper Mills, Maine. The house in the foreground has a women with something under her arm, standing on a wooden sidewalk under a sign that shows the direction and miles for Rockland and Gardiner. Behind the women is a wood pile and what appears to be a pen for chickens.. "Frank W. Cunningham was standing on Main Street (then known as Route 17) looking north on Windsor Road when he took this photograph. The card is postmarked July 1906 from the Coopers Mills Post Office. The sign on the tree points left/west to Gardiner 15 miles away, and right/east to Rockland 25 miles away. Coopers Mills occupies the one-mile section of Whitefield on Route 17 that is tucked between Jefferson on the East and Windsor on the West." -- Libby Harmon, Whitefield Historical Society 2023
