Russell House Congress St 1903

Russell House, 53 Congress St. in 1903 Lydia Whitcher Russell, daughter of Reuben and Lydia Taylor Whitcher was born in 1820 and died in 1900. She was married to Azro Russell (1816-1868). They had two children, George Russell (1841-1907) and Josephine H. Russell Hurd (1851-1931) Lydia M. Russell was living in this house with her unmarried son George, daughters Kate and Josie, and two granddaughters in 1900, until her death that August. Though Coombs identifies this house as the Russell House, it is not clear the children and grandchildren were still there in 1903 when the picture was taken. The house is on the northwest corner of Miller and Congress.
