Northport Ave (2 views) Trotting Horses
Northport Avenue looking north toward the "Foot of the Square" View of Northport Avenue looking north up Northport Avenue toward the "Foot of the Square" (the intersection of High and Church Streets and the beginning of Northport Avenue. The photograph was taken from Northport Avenue. You can see the James P. White house to the left. It is located between Church and High Streets at their intersection. There are a large number of horses and sleighs as well as many people on foot suggesting a gathering of some sort. The gathering may be for a sleigh race of some sort. This seems likely as all of the horses and sleighs are heading in one direction and occupying the full width of the street.
