Northport Ave (2 views) Trotting Horses
Northport Avenue looking south. View of Northport Avenue looking south down Northport Avenue from the "Foot of the Square" (the intersection of High and Church streets and the beginning of Northport Avenue. The photograph was taken from High Street. You can see the street signs on the tree on the right side of the photo. "High St." is just discernible. The horses and sleighs on the extreme right are headed toward Northport Avenue from Church Street. There is a large number of horses and sleighs as well as many people on foot suggesting a gathering of some sort. The gathering may be for a sleigh race of some sort. This seems likely as all of the horses and sleighs are heading in one direction and occupying the full width of the street.
