Ten Oaks is Charles Coombs' summer cabin on Tilden Pond in Belmont, Maine, about six miles southwest of the middle of Belfast. LITTLE ELVA (16' 3/4" in length x 4' 3 - 1/4" beam x 2' 1- 1/2"Draft) is a wooden captain's gig built c.1881 by the carpenter of the CORA for Charles R. Coombs, the son of Captain Robert. H. Coombs. It is named for Elva Leith, the daughter of Cora Leith, Charles's sister in Bedford, England. Its carvings are by Captain Coombs. The settee is rigged. The hull is painted white with varnished wood trim.
