Square Dancing 30
This image shows a line of square dancing couples in a small community dance hall decorated with pictures and Japanese paper lanterns. A couple at the right join in ballroom position and begin to swing.
As the images in this series progress, it become clear that some of the more experienced dancers are guiding the beginners, who appear increasingly at ease as they gain confidence.
In this improvised dance hall Kosti finds his preferred subject matter: the folkways of ordinary people at work and as here, at play.
