Miller, M.D. and The Memory Shop (featuring an antique shop and accommodations for overnight guests) which was later, in the 1960s, the home of a local physician, Dr. Ward Albro and also the home of local bank president, Claude Clement. Mr. Clement was the first Maine resident to receive the "Friend of the 4-H" at the annual National 4-H banquet in Chicago in1962. In 1980 the Waldo County Humane Society in conjunction with County and Municipal support opened the Claude Clement Animal Shelter serving all of Waldo County.
