"Kennebec River, Skowhegan Me. 40." Kennebec River, Waterway, Industry, Smokestack, Mill, Lumber, Town Scene, Buildings The building in the center, to the right of the smoke stack is the pulp mill. The Kidder mill is on the right. The stack at the left was built by H. C. Purinton & Company, of Waterville. During its construction ten feet in elevation was built in one day. This was supposed to be a record in structures of this character. The pulp mill in this picture, the Kidder mill and the buildings beyond were later occupied by the Daniel E. Cummings Company woolen mill.
