Seabreeze Ave Stonington Me. 47.
"Seabreeze Ave Stonington Me. 47." Image looking up unpaved Seabreeze Avenue above the center of town. At left, with the bell tower, is Stonington Methodist Church, built in 1893 under the pastorate of Rev. Horace Haskell, a well-liked minister. The parish was known for its "vigorous women's organization". A cluster of cheerful, well-dressed children poses restlessly on the wooden sidewalk - the girls forming a line behind the biggest boy. They may be on their way home from the Church's Sunday School, which was known for its large enrollment. The water tank and windmill at the right belonged to the Oceanview House, an inn established in 1883. The building with the double doors and cupola is possibly a carriage house. [n.f.
