Alice Dodge Peeking out from the Companionway of DIXIE

Alice Dodge peeking out from the companionway of the gaff-rigged sloop DIXIE as she sails along down Eggemoggin Reach off Brooklin, Maine.  Unfortunately, there's no overall photos of this boat that I've seen, but the onboard photos show she had a large oval cockpit and a small trunk cabin. Her jib sheet leads through the cockpit staving to a cleat on its inboard face—somewhat unusual, but very convenient. - Maynard Bray - July 2024
