Vinalhaven Peapod
Peapod ( 15' 6" ) built on Vinalhaven Island, ME circa 1935. Ron Hawkins first spotted this pod on a dock in Carver's Harbor where it was being used to wash fishing gear. Watched it for 15 years before getting it around 2000. His estimate was that it was some 75-100 years old. He replaced the stems and gunwhales, painted it and used it lightly. Reinforced with frames running from riser to riser in between frame pairs amidships.
