Anchor: large with wooden stock. Anchor has a ring; the wooden stock in the square eyelet is half missing (rotted). The iron has deteriorated to show composite rods (not solid cast iron). Anchor found in the south end of Rockland Harbor by Spear and several others. Spear took the anchor home, hammered off a lot of the rust and kept it for a time. Then sometime in the 90s (during Renny Stackpole's time) he brought it up to Searsport and donated it to the Marine Museum. This anchor does not appear to be previously in the database so was entered in 9/2007.
