Sea Chest belonging to Captain Daniel Nichols
Sea Chest belonging to Captain Daniel Nichols This chest may have been used for storing signal flags as the inside of the lid has a table of consonants listed on the left side and some other sort of letter table on the right. Large American ship's flag and small wooden gavel were also in chest. Clark Nichols purchased this sea chest for the museum from his sister's estate sale (Lucy Nichols). Value is purchase price at auction. Captain Nichols was Clark's grandfather.
