Coffin Plate: marked
Coffin plate made in 1848. Marked: "Shepherd Blanchard, died December 5th, 1848. Aged 62 years." Shephard Blanchard Sr. (1786-1848) found in the War of 1812 as a first lieutenant in the local militia. He captained a bark and schooner in his late 50s.
