Sailmaking/rigging tool: sailmaker's bench, belonged to William H. Hahn

16 x 94" bench. Used by William H. Hahn as a sailmaker's bench, including several tools, such as: fids, awls, needle envelope, wood needle case, sailmaker's palm, needles in cork holder, beeswax, and a spool of cotton thread. Bench has a locked drawer marked with initials A.M.S. Sailmaking/rigging tool: sailmaker's bench, belonged to William H. Hahn Sailmaker's Bench w/tools 94"x16" Tools list from file 7 July 2004 entered 9 wooden fids 4 metal pins 4 awls 4 needle boxes 2 knives, one in sheath on bench 1 wooden thread holder 2 sailmaker's hooks on cords 3 metal tools ( reamers) 1 pr. pliers 1 tool w. horn handle?? 6 palms 1 hand stitcher 1 velvet needle case with various needles Examination of the bench shows that there is a locked drawer with initials A.M.S. on it. Drawer has combination lock on it and will need disassembly to check contents. The original seat has been covered with tacked on naugahyde or something similar . The inventory of visible items does not correspond with the above list. Label has 8 fids 4 awls 1 needle envelope 1 wood needle case 1 palm 5 needles in cork holder 1 beeswax 1 spool cotton thread.
