Penobscot/Abenaki Ocean Birchbark Canoe
19'10"L x 36"W birchbark Penobscot/Abenaki Ekwiten. Built in 2006 for the Museum with funds from an NEH Grant by Aaron York and his assistants Hugga Dana and Gwenhuwhet Dana. Launched on 9/9/2006 in Searsport Harbor. This canoe is a working canoe and is to be used under the supervision of the Penobscot Marine Museum. Value comes from financial statements (probably the cost of labor and supplies)
