Whitehall style pulling boat by Thomas Fleming Day
14' L x 3' 6.25" beam wooden Whitehall style pulling boat. Day pulling boat measured by Greg Rossel; museum has plans. Boat combines features of St. Lawrence skiff, wherry stern and Whitehall shape. Built c. 1919 by Thomas Fleming Day, Inc. of New York City. Brought to Maine by Moseley family of Isleboro. One of two survivors of Day's boat shop. Moseley's boat was used on Islesboro. After Day retired from editing Rudder in 1916 he established a business in NYC handling small boats and yacht supplies. ran for about 10 years. Day died August 19, 1927. Cosmetically restored prior to coming to museum. Green and wood exterior, wood interior.
