Pitcher: carved from wood of Peary's ship ROOSEVELT

4 5/8 x 3 1/2" wood pitcher made by Sewall L. Heywood in 1905. The handle of the pitcher is in the shape of the Roosevelt hull. Sewall carved the pitcher from wood of Peary's ship the ROOSEVELT for his wife Bertha Louise Wardwell. The ROOSEVELT was built in Verona in 1905. Carved into the side of pitcher is: "Peary/1905/ Bucksport/ ME/ SLH/ to/ BLH." Pitcher: carved from wood of Peary's ship ROOSEVELT The ROOSEVELT was built in Verona in 1905. Heywood carved a pitcher out of some of the wood from the ship for his wife Bertha Louise Wardwell. The handle of the pitcher is in the shape of the Roosevelt hull.
