Marcellus Veazie Account Books
Two volumes with ship's accounts kept by Captain Marcellus Veazie of Islesboro, Maine. The earlier volume contains accounts for the brig EUGENIA, brig HENRY STEWART, and bark FLORENCE L. GENOVAR, while the later volume has accounts from the FLORENCE L. GENOVAR and MARY A. HALL. Both volumes record the vessels' income from freight charges and expenses for towing, pilotage, customs fees, freight handling, repairs, and provisions, with accounts tallied in each port. The earlier volume has some miscellaneous notes by the end, including a list of charts owned by Veazie and tallies of sails repaired. 3 folders: Account Book, 1873-1886; Account Book, 1882-1895; Loose Papers
